Posted on: 10th Jul 2026
This Summer Term , our students have successfully completed their BTEC Home Cooking Skills assessments, showcasing not only their culinary talents but also their creativity, independence, and dedication.
Year 10 students took their skills on a global journey, exploring different cultures through food. They researched and created unique dishes inspired by the ingredients and flavours of their chosen countries, demonstrating both curiosity and innovation in the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Year 11 students displayed outstanding empathy, adaptability, and professionalism. They were challenged to design and prepare two-course meals tailored to meet the dietary needs of staff clients - an experience that mirrored real-world catering scenarios and highlighted their growing confidence.
The range of dishes produced was exceptional, including Jamaican patties, spring rolls, pistachio milk cake and burgers - a true celebration of global flavours and cultural appreciation.
We are incredibly proud of the resilience, teamwork, and pride our students demonstrated throughout the assessment process. Don’t miss the chance to see their fantastic work - check out The Heath School Recipe Book 2026 (click here)
